I've got this noise and just to eliminate some stuff -
I've changed the Alternator crank pulley (it had died)
Gear box
Clutch
Cam belt / Tensioners / Water Pump
Alternator
All valves replaced
Drive shafts.
(yes I bought the car fooked)
And the noise is still there, and yes it sounds like its coming from under the rocker, and yes it gets slightly louder on acceleration, not a clue what it is
Run the car for about 4000miles since the above work without a problem
