Still waiting on the cam, and due to moving to the Isle of Wight I won't be having them fitted for ages.
However, so far...
- GSR induction kit: £150, 5bhp gain. Installed myself, therefore free.
- Saxo VTR injectors (also available from the 1.6 Xsara & 306): £10, 2bhp gain after remap. Again, installed myself.
- Red Dot Racing remap: £199, 7bhp gain after injectors and induction kit. Price is VAT and labour inclusive.
To be added...
- GSR cam: *free* (development model), projected bhp is anywhere between 5 and 15bhp. The street price on these is set to be £150. Fully developed for the characteristics of the TU 8v, maximising on the mid-range and low-end torque. I will be fitting these myself, hardly the world's most difficult job.
- Multi-angle valve cut: *free* (development model), no idea yet. Probably around 2bhp or something. No idea what projected price will be either. I've simple bought another 1.1 head to have the work done to, so it'll be a case of unbolting the old head, putting the new one on and replacing the cambelt/head gasket at the same time.
- Lightened flywheel: £expensive. Just a quicker-spooling engine. Labour cost: No idea. You need to take the gearbox off though.
- Saxo VTR inlet manifold & throttle body: £20, scrapyard. This just needs some adjustment to the head of the 1.1 and we'll be laughing. Should be a simple 5-8bhp gain. Again, self-installed... just 5 bolts, unplugging a few things, moving the coil pack, etc.
That's what we have, and what we're getting. Should be a road-ready beast.
Overall target bhp = 100bhp/litre.
