I could do with more of both if ya get me!
Had a busy day today - lots of bits sorted out! Firstly I had to go to Central Blast Cleaning to pick up some more powder coated bits, then onto AST to get my coilovers sorted out once and for all (after an on going palava of incompatible parts, and not being happy with them!)
I've never been to Powerstation before but the guys have a serious set up there, proper workshop with a rolling road, and a collection of goodies/machinery/cars to die for!

The head man of AST there (Curtis) built up my coilovers and machined some sleeve nuts for me (the others wouldn't fit with my pug sport dampers) and sorted me some springs too - really nice guy, helpful and extremely knowledgable (which was very assuring!) So many things to consider when you actually get questioned by an expert lol! ie; spring size/shape to allow for different tyre clearance, height of car, what it's gonna be used for etc etc. I would THOROUGHLY recommend him as a point of contact if anyone is considering an AST set up (which should be noted they do a FULL coilover conversion for the saxo/106 which requires no welding or anything due to ingenious design - I think it's around £600 or so, or they can do a proper race set up with re worked strut arms like the cup car set up for about £1000. I would've gone for this in the first place had I known, but never mind..! Anyway, enough of that. I also finished off my fuel system, and finished preparing the bay for paint - all studs now ground off, a few air holes cut to aid air flow to the TB's. Also a few shots of my gearbox with the end cap off.
Powdercoated stuff:
Fuel System 99% Complete:
Coilovers with 175lb springs (as recommended by Curtis, which it should be noted the saxo that runs his suspension that he designed recently won the stock hatch championships!):
Fully Adjustable top mounts - you can see the little plastic spacer part too, that's also a bearing to allow the springs to turn etc, and to relieve some stress from the main top mount bearing.
Bay Finally ready for paint!:
Air Holes cut for the TB's - i'm not keen on cutting the scuttle, and two of these were small holes left by the wiper bracket I removed, so I just enlarged them:
Gearbox inside after removing the end cap:
Note the new sexy latex glove (ooh eer!)
So hopefully it'll get painted shortly, then I can start getting it all together - can't wait!
