I agree, i can still see people getting together in groups and abusing the 'thank you' system that is being proposed (if it comes into place). It would be like the reputation system all over again in a few months time.
As a general note
IF we are going to have a replacement we need something like the points based level system that is allready in place. This system is really good because it takes the human element out of things and judges everyone on the same criteria. Other than that we could have a system in place which is enforced by the moderator's ? They are probably the only ones trustworthy enough not to abuse it. The only downside is they have their work cut out keeping things in check allready.
