ok, youre getting it wrong.

Your amp has 3 cables in (then RCAs as well)

1) Power should be direct to battery (normally red) thick cable

2) earth to a suitable point nearby (brown or black) thick cable

3) Then remote wire which is normally blue or blue with a white stripe from REM on your amp to the blue wire on your head unit.

Then plug your RCAs into the amp from the headunit and your speaker wires from the amp to the speakers and youre done.

Though the amp is directly connected to the battery it will not power on. Thats what the REM wire is for (remote) this only allows current to flow into the amp when the headunit is activated (or youre battery would go flat)
