no mate you can just buy one on pay go then jailbreak it then add the yell0wsn0w software to unlock it, with full use of all the features
i have had mine since they came out last july and in my eyes its the best phone you can get
blackberrys are ok but only for email! the new curve isnt 3g either so wouldnt expect the fastest interweb plus a full qwerty keyboard would just get on my tits
