Your backing plate is too big mark, 3.5" is 88.9mm and menzerna spot pads are only 80mm diameter. The backing pad you have is meant for the sonus spot pads which are 100mm diameter.

The difference with the 2 pads in the links is,

the ones from elite car care are 80mm diameter.

the ones from cleanyourcar are 135mm.
