You dont need to tell your insurance mate, their only interested if anything you have done increases proformance. well i.e. your airfilter but i told mine its all stock parts

Dewiper is easy i just used a hammer and hit the top were the bolt is but not to hard as it may break the window. It just loosens it.
And lowering, as llong as it doesnt affect your driving ability that doesnt need to be told.
I remember the hard times as a student wanting loads of car modds.
Keep it plane and simple for a couple of years or you'll end up in big debt. I almost couldnt affort my insurance at one point.
