Turn console on with network adaptor unplugged, insert driver disc and try and run it. If nothing happens set the xbox to boot from disc on startup:

system settings > console settings > startup and shutdown > startup > disc

Turn console off for about 30 seconds and then turn it back on again and it should boot from the disc to install the driers. Once this is done just plug in the adaptor and it should work.
