and connect +and neg lead to each other where battery was --so no possibility of spikes back feeding through chassis .
It isalways advisable to AT LEAST disconnect ecu plug.
sme goes for charging battrey up or using jump leads when connected to car --make sure you at least always remove postivie lead first when disconnecting, better idea is do not charge batteries when on car .
