Insurance companies can prove your fronting simply by looking for another insurance policy on another car owned by your parents, simple really.

The price of insurance isnt always to replace your car/whatever you hit.
If you knock over a child and they get injured & need 24 hour care for the rest of their life, its the insurance that pays, unless they can find a way to void the insurance then its YOU that has to pay.
For a mistake you make when you were new to driving you could be paying for the rest of your life, all you had to do to avoid it is insure yourself properly!

There are always options, the problem with all the 17 year old is that they want cars that their mates think are cool.
My first car was a nissan micra and i paid £800TPFT for my first years insurance in my own name.
It wasnt a car i particularly wanted, BUT i wanted to drive leagally so i had it for a year then changed to my saxo.
