I know id have to use diodes to stop any back feed of current. Where would be the best place to pick up the wires for the sidelights? Just under the steering wheel where the loom comes from the stalks?
Ive also got the smart windows module here but my installer wouldnt fit it, so i may go for that one later. My question is are there switches so the unit knows when the window is fully up or down?
So the unit knows when to stop sending a signal etc?
Ive got intellistart too, but i think thats beyond what id like to fit myself so i may leave that one out
Sensor wise can i just plug new ones in and its works or do they have to be set up too?
Million and one questions i know

yes pick up wires from the stalk, no diodes needed mate as there will be no back feeds, as for an installer that wont fit smart windows its not.... with the smart windows you program it to know when the windows are vented, it knows with thermal trips when the window is all the way down/up. most sensors need to be set up when fitted.
