My old 1.1 did this, a shortage in the wire i tried all the sensors too ha sometime stayed on in general...
A friend at the garage sorted it, took a while to find the short.
also if the cars hot it can stay on for a few minutes to cool after the engine off and key removed. so may not be a fault
