The seller should make every effort to keep the buyer informed. There will be cases though where the buyer gets impatient.
As James said though, there are a lot of people who go in the scammer threads just to poke their nose in which doesn't help anyone!
If a delivery time is stated then it should be adhered to unless the buyer is notified of changes.
It's all common sense really but unfortunately these days Britain seems to be severely lacking in it
Edit: Re: excuses. Not acceptable. If they make a commitment to sell something then they should get it sorted.
"Being busy" isn't a suitable reason imo.
