Right, as said above, since moving house last year and hense having the car between old house, bodyshop and new house, various small trim bits, bolt, screws, brackets and weather seals have been misplaced over time, most of which are needed for rebuilding the car. After spending quite a bit of time trawling ebay and other classifieds, and seeing how much money people want for each of these bits (eg £10 per runner seal, and I need 5 of them!), I decided to just buy a cheap full car. That way I can take what I need, sell the rest and overall hopefully turn a bit of a profit, rather than spending loads. An added bonus is that I can use the donar car almost as an instruction book, helping me to remember where everything fits and how!! (its been far too long sat in my garage )

The ebay trawling paid off, and yesterday I picked up a black vtr with 16v conversion. Its got a few nice parts on it, so making my money back shouldnt be an issue. GIven it a clean up this morning to see exactly how it looks, quite surprised how well it shined up tbh.

spec as I currently understand it is:

16v conversion, with midly ported rebuilt head, standard mani and exhaust and shitty cone filter
106 half leather interior inc door cards
S1 106 rallye 'box
Rebuilt rear beam
Smoothed front bumper, fogs deleted, plate recess filled and splitter/bump strip colour coded
Rear bumper colour coded and tow hook smoothed
side badged smoothed and colour coded
106 mirrors
Rally designs coilovers up front
15" alloys on 195/50/15 tyres
Nice new Nissens Radiator
266mm front brakes
