I lolled back at the gardener being facetious.

My mower, bought like millions of others, was from a shop that sells mowers, amongst other various household/diy items. I'm sorry it doesn't match the spec of your uber-i'm-a-fucking-gardener-motherfucker ride on, mow down forests v8 400bhp nitrous powered monstermower, but it doesn't.

Long grass to me is defined as something that looks untidy. Really long grass is something that looks untidy and is harder to cut (for my weedy Flymo).

I'm sorry our definitions differ. You're clearly the man to come to when I have some sort of garden wide horticultural crisis.
