it should not be "that" slow, as they weigh sod all, 75 bhp should be ample, I know my first car as a 58 bhp diseasel was enough except for when you wanted to overtake!
personally I'd be dropping in a 1293 Rallye lump
100 bhp and lighter than the lump in there which would be Iron block afaik.
