only ax,s with cast iron blocks were the GTI and the later diesls 1500c
all others are alloy block

the irish 1400cc class is actually 1450cc --so you can use 1294cc crank + kit car rods+ wossner pistons(1428cc) + small mod to block in a 1.6 16v engine and make a 190bhp screamer--
