bucket seats are fine if you pick the right one. I have a set in my AE86 and have no problems driving day to day. You have to pick the right seat though.

That means no big wing head protection to keep visibility good. I'd also look for seat with low leg support so you can easily run a normal seatbelt across your lap.. Alternatively you can do what I did and fit the seatbelt through the harness holes.

Full harnesses suck for everyday use so I use a seatbelt and a CG-Lock.
