Why not keep the stock ECU and have that mapped to suit your car?
You'll need a different MAP sensor and injectors suitably sized for your required power level of course, but you'll need those whatever ECU you use.
By keeping the stock ECU you also have knock protection, which none of the less expensive aftermarket ECUs have. You are looking at £1000+ for a Life Racing/Syvecs unit, Motec etc to get the same level of protection that the stock ECU gives, and that is free!
If you're concerned about theft, the stock ECU also has the immobilser option, which absolutely none of the aftermarket ones do unless it's specially configured so at great expense.
Diagnostics is standard, so easy.
The loom is standard, so free and easy to follow published diagrams if you have an issue in the future and also very easily replaced if you have a problem or it gets damaged.
Without doubt the best and also the cheapest ECU solution.
