Default Boot lock.

Had the same issue.
Mine was the central locking actuator seized solid.
Will explain in a childlike way, as I don't know if you are a novice or know youre stuff?
Yours could have seized or the actuator arm (or what the arm hooks onto) may have snapped....more likely actuator itself has seized.
As previous reply says, remove the hatch panel, does require removing some tricky white plastic clips aswell as the screws. I just cut mine out as they are hard to remove without damaging them. (Panel goes back on fine without these clips, but they can be found on eBay too)
Look for and remove the 2 wires that are plugged into the actuator.
Then unscrew the actuator (DONT LOSE THE SPECIAL SCREW) and slide actuator off the lock prong.
AT THIS POINT, I found that the hatch will now lock with the key, as the lock prong is no longer held solid by a seized actuator arm.
If you still want hatch central locking then eBay is the place! I got lucky and found one for £8...most are £10 to £20.
Not sure what type of actuator you have as there are many!
I looked for days and days till I found what I thought was a match for my hard to find actuator. Looked the same, but the arm was actually 8mm shorter and the square arm hole was smaller!
On fitting it, it went on well enough and with the wires in, it actually worked a treat! Still working 3 months on.

Goog luck
