It runs parallel to the feed pipe from the engine bay and they both go directly onto the outles on the fuel tank - I'm sure there's arrows on the pump so you know what's in and whats out.

You could run it single line? just use a VTS regulator in place of the 1.1 reg and block the return line on the rail using a short piece of hose and a bolt/plug.

So, using the parts you've got fit the 1.1 regulator in the rail - which will be open all the time anyway and the VTS reg from the rail into the holder at the rear. just to clarify that
