Thought it worth mentioning the dreaded rocking seat issue that is caused by the mounts cracking/failing in the front floors at the centre (happens both sides too)!
Also front corners of floors I have had problems with but you can't really tell unless you have a good poke around under the wheel arch at the bottom ... I have had 3 of late where the boot floor looked like it had minor rust in the seams at the edge, only to later discover that they are totally rotten!
This is how bad they can get and still be covered by rust proofing from the outside with the wheel off you can see how bad it had gotten (this was a 106 quicksilver 2000 reg but essentially the same car)
and this is how that same side was from the inside
This is how bad under the ecu and fusebox can get ..
as you can see right on top of the strut top mounts ... fun
And here is some of the chassis leg rust that is mentioned in the original topic
This was my last saxo and as you can see, the carpet can hide some nice horrors which is why I would suggest a good poke around down there from the outside as it's well hidden
Also if your 8 valve engine sounds like there is a bell in there it's most likely this
which should look more like this
This is after I had welded the timing belt guide back onto it, If you are puzzled it's the bottom pulley and left unchecked can result in timing belt damage or timing belt snapping. Also causes this kind of damage to the block at a speed you could never imagine!
You can see where the belt wore a groove in the block both sides!
Just thought these bits would be good to share as a few of my friends have been stung badly recently
and I am also looking for a vtr or vts because life is boring without tie wraps in it
