I’ve been watching the VTS slowly creep up since around 2014 with good condition, fair mileage, standard models fetching between £1.5-2.5k. I’ve seen a few on eBay and Gumtree for more, sometimes north of £4k, but I don’t know whether they ever sold. I can’t ever see it being a classic though, not in the same way the 205s, GT Turbos, GTEs etc. are. Similar condition 106 GTis are, and probably always will be, worth more.
