You can't use a VTS (Magneti-Marelli) ECU on a loom for a VTR (Bosch) ECU because the pinouts are very different.

You'll be lucky if you haven't damaged it.

Likewise, you really really shouldn't run the 16v engine on the 8v ECU for several reasons, the fueling will be rich at low and mid-range speeds where the 8v has better volumetric efficiency, and then it will be lean, very lean, at high revs where the VE of the 16v is better and you won't be getting the full range of performance because the rev limit of the VTR ECU is lower.
