NOD32 is now ESET and had been for 3 years now, how old was that anti virus test? I've used it for 5 years and never had a virus.

I would not recommend turning off system restore, you will regret it.

Also I would not recommend entering reg edit unless you knew what you were doing, download ccleaner to manage startup programs since it offers a GUI for the startup entry and you can't fuck anything up.

I would recommend upgrading your RAM, it's easy to do, head over to crucial (google) and run their memory checker to see what you can add, remember to buy in pairs of same capacity for best performance. Remember if you have a 32-bit operating system the max RAM it will utilize is 3.86gb.

Edit; On a re-read half of that stuff I wouldn't recommend.
