it may be a faulty temp sensor on the radiator as my car seems to be rather high

Whack a new Thermostate in just to be on the safe side not expensive about £12 of your english pounds and you can fit it yourself dead easy. Flush out the block and rad get some new anti freeze/summer coolant in there and take it from there.

Mite be worth give the rad a quick look over as they are prone to corsion. If your still running warm 3/4 or pretty much anywhere above 1/2 then get a dye test done this will show any exhaust gases in your coolant system ie possable Head Gasket.

I had loads of troble with mine too, one garage said head gasket done dye test somewhere else turned out to be thermo stuck closed £12 is better than £300

I had this problem. When I first got my car the temp dia wuld read ova half way and up to 3/4 of the way to the top. My fan kept getting stuck now and then so the car culdnt cool down quick enuf. check that. now when i run the car it aways stays around half way due to the fan not geting stuck try that.
