Ive got firestones mate, theyre much better than the budgets i had obivously, but many people have said that compared to other brands such as Yoko, Toyo and Bridgestone the grip is bad, the wear is shite and theyre rubbish in the wet.

For my use theyre fine though, although i dont really test them out atall i never chuck the car around.

I've used Michelin Pilots, Eco's. some budget make, Continental somethings.

Michelins Pilots all the bloody way. dont care on the cost, they've lasted well and have great grip even in the shit conditions.

The michelins Eco's, even though they are one mofo hard compound held the road reasonably well, lasted ages (in fact) now my mother has the car i dont think we've changed them for 30k miles.

The budget ones werent too bad grip wise but the wear rate was kak. never got to try them in freezing temps thank god.

The conti's were on my 106. again good grip but as good as the michy's.

Another thing. dont go budget especially at this time of year... i dont go tight-ass when it comes to only thing that holds you to the ground.

They do wear pretty quickly.

The T1-S are pretty vague in damp conditions, but the T1-Rs are very good allround.

I've got the new michelin pilot exaltos and they are very very very good I would say in wet and dry they grip very well. The only downside is the price as 1 garage wanted £120 a tyre so with any tyre you buy shop[ around to find the best I got mine for £85 in the end!!!
