Default Thinking of getting my VTR cammed.

Hello, im wanting to get my VTR cammed, here is my list so far;

Newmans PH3 Fast road cams
POWERFLEX BUSHES BUSH KIT CITROEN SAXO + VTR
Citroen Saxo Phase 1 Bilstein Rear B8 Sprint Damper B36-2075 x2
Citroen Saxo Phase 1 Bilstein Front B8 Sprint Damper Insert P30-3059 x2
Citroen saxo phase 1 Spax 40mm springs
OMP FRONT UPPER RED STRUT BRACE CITROEN SAXO 1.6 8v VTR
Quickshift Gearstick And Surround
OMP 6 Point Bolt In Rollcage
Cobra bucket seats
OMP 3" harness's
OMP steering wheel

About getting my car cammed,
I understand i need the Newmans PH3 Fast road cams, is there anything else i need to get?
Is it right that i buy the cams, take them to a professional garrage & get them to install them & remap the car, is that all? Thank you.

Also does this sound about right;

Citroen Saxo Phase 1 Bilstein Front B8 Sprint Damper Insert P30-3059 - x2 - £223
Citroen Saxo Phase 1 VTR Bilstein Rear B8 Sprint Damper B36-2075 - x2 - £176
POWERFLEX BUSHES BUSH KIT CITROEN SAXO + VTR VTS FURIO - £128

i have a catcam 4901202 in mine and its fan for over a year without a map fine with reasonable gains. but a remap is on the cards very soon.
also if your buying all that kit and having a pro fit it, get a vernier pully and get that dialed in perfect for maximum benefit

well when i got my vts cammed i changed the cambelt and water pump to and it will run fine untill you get a map, but you don't see full potential without a map. you might need a cam seal to

youll need a head gasket set as well..as the head needs to come off to fit the cam

imo its a waste of time camming a vtr..i cammed mine, lots of money for very little difference

Never got round to getting it mapped mate

You'd be very lucky to see a genuine 130bhp from a healthy cammed and mapped vtr

Only way to get fecent power is turbo really, be better off spending the £300-400 on a cammed vts conversion

not being funny if you want decent power and you dont want to go boost then i would give up and not do anything to it, to get good power it costs a lot of money end of, as said spend £300 on a vts conversion imo that is the only thing you can do to any 8v saxos to get fairly good power cheap, as that isnt 'engine tuning' hence why its cheap

if you want good power out of an 8v yes

if you want good power cheap then no

all depends if your one of these 8v faggots (blackie and think they are somehow better than a 16v if you arent one of these siad people do an engine conversion, doing engine swaps is piss easy compared to tuning an engine, conversions put a lot of people off as they think its a huge job, but its simply dissconnect everything pull out, put new one in and conenct it all back up again, its just all hoses, clips and pipes easyyy
