Default electric window motor cable

Following a minor accident whereby the passenger door took a knock I figured it would pop out if I could get at it from the inside. I removed door card and noticed the only place I could get at the bump would require taking off the window motor which I did and then successfully tapped out the dent ,problem solved.

But trying to get the cable back on to the black wheel part of the regulator was a bit of a nightmare.Has anybody done this successfully(maybe just repaired a broken cable) or is it necessary to change the whole assembly . I had to put the door card back and tie up the cable to stop the window coming down as the wife needed he car for work . I had slipped the cables out of their guides and tried to wind them back with the switch but they seemed to just unwind further. Any ideas /suggestions appreciated.

Hi mate got similar problem by self I had my passenger window jaming, investigated found the plastic runner bent a window popped out, like you the only way I could solve my problem was to move the motor to get my hands in, all was good I sorted the problem but in my eagerness I forgot to remount the motor, I pressed the window button to test my fix and watch all the cable become unwound my cables even came all unhooked from window and motor. At one point I had the cables completely out. I spent 4hrs last night figuring out how everything was meant to go together iv now got almost all put together now just struggling to get last cable wound correctly.

Just wondered if there was meant be any specific order to putting it all back?

I'm hoping to have a go at it this week when the wife is not using it someday and have an idea how to do it easily (in my head of course)so will let you know if you haven't succeeded yet,but remember to keep the top cable pulled tight inside the car if it is loose as the window can drop easily when driving

Yeah I did mine myself.

It works still!

Took a while and a bit of lateral thinking to keep the wires from keep unravelling.

It's possible if you're the patient type!
