Default Engine options Saxo VTR

Hi guys,

I'm considering an engine upgrade for my 1.6 8v Saxo.
I want to finish at 120-130bhp and I'm considering tuning the current engine (but not much is known apparently) or replace it with a 1.6 16v from a C2 which has already 122bhp.
I really don't want to go down the turbo route.
Is this a straightforward job to replace the engine and wiring?
Does anybody have experience with either option?

Thanks

A conversion to a 106 gti (s16) or saxo vts (cup/16v) is the easiest route to 120bhp+.
Its an easy conversion to perform and perhaps getting a donor 16v car so you have all the parts on tap and when done you can then sell on what you dont need.

the jp4 and jp4s engines from the C2s are a a little bit more work to complete but not overly difficult

Thanks for the reply.
Can I just do the engine and ECU swap with the C2 engine?
