This JP4 head had screw in gallery plugs already, most of them have and I tend to use them in preference to the ball bearing ones, for the ease of cleaning. There are several details in the engine solely aimed at ease of maintenance and cleanliness as well as cost effective and easy to source consumables etc. I like dialling in stuff like that to make life easier at a later date, comes with a warm, smug, satisfaction!

I don't quote rollers figures generally and from about 7200/7300rpm the fuel delivery wouldn't increase, so the AFR was getting worryingly lean and nothing I could do to make it right. Fuel pump and/or lines likely to blame. The race cars I have run this engine spec in before have always had non-standard pumps and tanks. I think I'll leave figures for now, I only really trust engine dyno results these days. It's a nice engine and I'm proud of it!
What really pleased me though, I asked Josh to do a brim to brim economy test on the way home and it gave 37.9mpg!

Yep, at least another 1,000rpm before the cams reach theoretical peak power
