I dont class the scoob as a 'hot hatch', more of a quick saloon tbh

stick a turbo on a saxo or 106 like most of the other cars there then put it redo the test lol

very interesting, hot hatches have become very fast. altho, surely there is a limit? i mean for the FWD car you dont want over 250 BHP. alot of people look into 0-60 times way too much, its handling and fun factor for me.

but alex, your power band is much broader than a normal vts so it wouldnt just gain from 0-60 but gain everywhere by loads.what do you predict to do 0-100 in alex?

Dunno but it won't be up with the 2.0 turbo guys once they get into their stride at higher speeds. With the diff and slicks though it will be plenty capable in the twisties.

Got some nice ideas for next year though seeing as i'm near the limit of n/a, what's the point in spending £1.5k for another 10bhp when i could sell the engine and start over again for a good amount more

The VTS has a great engine and really can hold its own with some of the bigger players!

Being able to hit 60 in 2nd gear (just) is a big advantage. I remember the media hype when the Saxo was first launched.... everyone was banging on about it!

The newer breads are obvisouly more refined and more advanced, but the VTS is still great! Its a pity its gearbox is so $hite after a few miles

simo, what figures have you got for your car?
Only official 0-60 I have is from years back before some changes were made. The car back then made 6.08s.

As a comparison, Ive just Bought a Megane F1 R26, which is booked similar. The T-VTS feels much more raw and in some respects it feels quicker. But in high gears and also low revs, the Meg has mucg more torque (feels that way anyhow).

My VTS only has a tiny blower though - never got around to fitting the new one... yet

With a quaife diff and slicks i'm sure simos vts t would be quite a bit quicker off the line...

T2 on... T25 in the shed waiting lol.

Gearbox cant handle the lug drive clutch, especially on launches. Quaiffe seems the only sensible option

I dont wanns fit the bigger blower until the transmission is fettled.

To be fair, the cars now running approx. 0.25bar more boost than when that time was recorded, so should be quicker.

Rolling road figures are guess work. THe only figures Ive trusted are those of GMC, but some people dont agree with their methods either. Couple of years ago, it consistantly made 190@wheels.

so i think you should see a sustantial increase in power with your new blower.
my quiafe is getting done in a month or two,a must with any boosted/high n/a power saxo imo.

i think with some sticky tyres and a lsd i recon a boosted saxo like simos could get below the 5 sec barrier.
