Wile0ut's Vdub mk2 polo saloon <3 retro goodness
here it is my 1984 vw polo mk2 saloon 1.1 82'000 miles. went to have a look at it last week and picked it up today. got back home literally 15minutes ago and couldn't help taking some pics of it for you guys. so here they are
this is when i went to look at her

her at her new home

yes hawiian necklace lol
fully in love with this car already looks so good on the road and drives really well.
couple of problems ive found is the pas side seatbelt is broke so will be getting a new 1 tommorow or later on in the week from the scrappies. and its timing abit of revving a little high in neutral and taking a while to cut off so need to have a play with the dizzy cap over the weekend. oh and one of the plate lights is gone. other than that i cant fault the car its structually sound and awesome fun to drive
c&c welcome
Dan

High idle / slow cut off will be the Pierburg carb. There are service kits available (I've rebuilt 3 on the golf!!) or you could always convert to a weber carb. It'll have a manual choke so you can control the idle instead of relying on a vacuum system. It'll increase power a bit but might make it thirstier.
Before you buy a new seatbelt, pull it all the way out and spray the belt both sides with furniture polish. Mine packed in 3 months ago and wouldn't spring back, did this trick and they're like new.
Finally! Nice car mate looks like a really solid shell with bags of potential, if you ever feel the need for more power, 1.3 engines from mk2 golf's and polo's fit straight in. Gti engines will also squeeze in with a little pursuasion!
Tom

i tell you what could be an interesting thing to look at...a BAM 20vT conversion! would be epic to see an engine like that in a polo saloon!
