Hahaha! Well I've already got buckets and a stripped out car, but I think I'd need to wear nappies if I had 200bhp

thats providing you don,t skim on the ecu system and MAPPING time --which is where most people cut the corners.
thats why i like the DTA or predator its so easy to run w/b in real time --omex and others can,t do that
seems they are happy to spend on shiny bits but not onsomeones expertise to aset it up correctly
very short sighted.

Yep serious mate, that's with a 1.4xsi box too, so in theory on a longer box it would be even better

Agreed John, setting up the engine up is as important if not more important than the spec IMO. This engine has had NO corners cut what so ever. Although your assumption about us using a wideband is incorrect

With 40mpg could use it as a daily I was surprised how well mine did on ITB's.

Stock Saxo with decat when I first mapped mine on the first Predator I wound the fuel down to 50mpg @ 65mph on closed loop wideband. Normal tyres at factory pressures
Couldn't have that as a one-off map and use on a trackday because 3000rpm 10% throttle represents apex position on a racetrack and last thing you want is a 16.5:1 AFR when you're on part throttle tickling a car round a corner on the limit!

I wasn,t even thinking particlarly about your build ,so ther was no assumption of you using w/b .
but if you did your light throttle fuelling would be better still + you would have even better ambient condition compensations ,especially on warm up .
you always have the option to limit at what the load and rpms w/b can actually adjust fuelling , EG up to say 50% load +100% tps up to say 4k and tail it off as you please but can still see what is actually happening across whole rpm + load range
I know some worry about probes going down under race conditions ,but that is usualy due to incorrect postioning of probe or too much of it poking into the exhaust--so just make it so it can,t adjust full throttle heavy load points
lets face it if turbo cars can run them ,from factory and don,t fall apart with the heat it should never be a problem on an n/a car
there is another popint ==you can check if the mapper has done a good job as well and help him to fine tune the map once you see the readings in the real world

no but with a w/b +gauge you could see EXACTLY what is happening at all times ,and my guess would be that most are set overrich --just to be sure
you will certainly see a lean/rich hole in the map on acceleration or very light throttle which can be hard to spot on the dyno sometimes
8/10 cars i see which have been heavily modifed the oil stinks of fuel when you snifff the filler cap if driven about gently--which is showing fuelling are not correct at light + start up areas ,which in turn will shortne ring life drastically

Not a big concern when you have SB mapping, he has spent a LOT of time mapping very similar engines, as well as quite a variety of jre's engines, that his builds use less fuel, run cleamer and last longer, and lap quicker

Your thread is massive.
Do you have any pictures of your washer bottle modification. I seem to remember it being in a different place/lookiny very tidy?
