depends on ur budget mate, to start with:
closed induction kit, like a bmc - £100 +
manifold, £200+
full exhaust system - £250+

after that id then start with the better stuff, like cams and a remap (£600+)

if ur on a tight bugget then get an induction kit for now and GET IT LOWERED!
lowering is the best mod to do, IMO...
makes ur car handle alot better!

With you on that one matey. Lowering is the best thing you can do.

But yes, full exhaust with a manifold and de-cat is a good mod. Frees the revs up loads.

And get a panel filter for the standard airbox. I.E a Green.

I wouldnt go much further than them mods tbh, you would be best off either 16v-ing it or t/c and s/c.

Normal starting place is full exhaust system, enclosed air filter, de-cat, manifold, then cam and remap, head work and if money persists throttle bodies, turbo/supercharging.

You can however strip the car of interior parts that arent needed, this will make the car lighter and costs nothing.

a good enclosed filter and exhaust will be your first thing thats should be about £500 all new

not sure what reg is yours so would say de cat (£50) it if its the later vtr the cats in maniold so will have to buy the whole manifold to de cat (see below)

then your next purchase will be a a decent manifold GMC are probley the best
i paid £310 for mine

persoanlly thats as far as i would go with a vtr as camming one is a waste of money IMO

if you want the best bhp per £ fit a vts engine in it

also losing un needed weight in the car will make it faster

also decent breaks and suspension will help
