Josh not saying ring isn't good I'd have a go I'd like it to be my local lol but its a long way.
I'm a loaner lol. Always have been one for heading to the track in my own as i do like to focus on driving rather than socialising. Yes i m a sad arse.
Done Cadwell before?

Yeah I know you weren't Stew. It is a fair distance to go, but boy it's worth it.
For me the ring trip is just as much about the track as it is the social side of things. It would be boring to go on your own, but then when your there its epic... Once you go you will realise the UK tracks are average at best.
Yeah I've been to Cadwell a couple of times, it's nothing special, very stop-starty, hard on the car & doesn't really flow that well. I much prefer donnington if I had to choose a UK track. The track flows nicely, plenty of undulation too. All in my opinion of course

Just spent the last hour or so flicking through this thread. Man this car has come a long way since i was last a regular user of Sax-P. I can appreciate the time and effort put into this type of build after building a 106 Cup Car from scratch, this really is the ultimate Saxo before going the Kit Car route with wider track and sequential box.
Fair play Josh, everything has been done and done properly. Once the BE is in there then you wont have to worry about the gearbox then, though i have to say it seemed the MA was hanging in there pretty well?
Have fun with it, i'm sure you do anyway and i hope the Ring trip goes well

But also agree with Joe... No UK track comes even close to the ring - Caldwell included - I don't know who named it the mini nurburgring because they are an idiot, it's a 5/10 when you compare it to the ring - yes Stew the ring really is that good compared to any UK track I've ever done anyway!!
I've always wanted to do Spa but can't really comment there, it looks epic on TV....

its all down to what you fancy, ive been ring for a week , 10 days, weekends, and yet spa is one was wana do, u basically drive past it, i think track days are who u are with, i did one with mat russel and collin a few weeks ago, and it was the bollox of a day, that was at snetterton 300.. its the same with english tracks, yea some r better than others but its all down to what u like, at ring i smash my mate, i love it, yet english tracks hes on me like glue, its all down to what you fancy i think next year we should do a open pit day at a track mid field of everyone come, not no-ones home ground just a semi decent price track, and just have it up, ring is good and great fun, and untill u go there you cant describe it and ppl look at u weird and shit, just to watch is all good and the cars there are different levels, well some, ull see a 86 yr old man hanging his gt3 out,
i did wana go ring with u guys but baby is here in 3 weeks so im on home soil only

Yeah Ibiza was nuts mate, unfortunately (as normal) Ive got a crazy bad cold / man flu from Ibiza so that ruled out going back to the ring this week lol.

Yeah I agree with you Kev, really does depend who your with, but at the ring its on a whole different level, plus like you mentioned at the ring it seperates the good drivers from average drivers, where as the UK tracks are generally fairly flat which makes them easier

Keep up Joey Gearbox exploded (quite literally!) on the motorway on the way back from Sandys the night before we were due to go to the ring! So dad rebuilt the box while I was away in Germany / Ibiza and we fitted when I got back on Sunday morning. Now rocking a vts/gti box which is waaayyyy too long with the 9k limiter, and saps a bit of power being so long, but it will do the job for this summer before the BE box goes in next year
