Default ypbrb lead doesn't work in new tv

bought a new HD tv 26" and its been brilliant, been really happy with it, but i bought a PS2 HD lead, its a ypbrb cable, which are the green, blue, red white and red connectors, and it doesn't work in my tv. I thought ok might be a faulty lead, so i bought a new one, and that doesn't work either. So i am guessing the connectors in the back of the TV are faulty. I only got this TV a few week back, but i don't really want to send it back, because apart from this, the TV has been spot on. Can you get a PS2 to HDMI lead? or any other way of getting my PS2 into HD?
