Got the temperature gauge issue I've had recently sorted with a new 82 degree stat.
I only got rid of the blue leatherette style wheel and added a 350mm suede one which is a lot nicer to use I find.
Im putting the CAF back in on the front of the car to feed the induction kit, will be cracking on with that tomorrow but I found the car has MOT well into next year which I didnt know about so that'll save me some effort once I tax and insure it!

To be fair mate I didnt really drive it in VTR engine spec enough to make a comparison but this engine sounds a lot more lively if you will, but those probably due to the breathing mods.
Any way today I fitted my new OMP strut brace. Easy enough a job and should have some benefits with the top brace in place too.

Got a bit bored tonight so I put some bonnet pins on the car and dewipered the rear screen. No pics of the bonnet pins yet as the light in the garage isn't brilliant at the momenthence the shoddy pics
Also got an oil catch tank to fit next!

Pics of the car tonight with bonnet pins fitted before it bucketed down with rain again:
Also pics of the induction kit I've created from bits and pieces. Not pretty but functional, bay needs its catch tank and the wiring hiding in plastic sleeving but thats a job for next week.

Looks a cracker so far mate!
Not too fussed on the Purple on the Wing Mirror, however, if you like it, don't let anyone tell you different!
Fair play.

Cheers mate, not too sure whether to change the colour yet but I just had some spare Rover purple paint kicking about and I was bored.

Installed the oil catch tank today then I decided to do the rocker cover in the same Ford yellow as the mirror caps and chevrons as I'd had enough of the dull purple. I also found an old citroen badge to put on the cover even though its not technically a citroen engine! I sprayed the suspension turrets and upper rain tray/bulkhead in amazon green as it was all chipped and faded then finally the upper strut brace got a coat of black to freshen it up.
I changed the headlight bulbs to the halfords extreme brilliance ones and put some new rear number plate illumination bulbs in - the lenses were filthy and full of algae! I found the ecu cover after searching for it in the garage for ages, so that was cleaned and put on to tidy the bay.

Some more pics of the car on my new camera as the old one died.
Gave the car a good tidy up inside, hoovering all the swarf and dust up from when the interior came out. Also the vinyl door strips are gone, which I may replace as I've ordered some matt black wrap just to have a play and maybe do the roof too.
Also a video of how it sounds:

Took this for a spin up a private farm track that my dad knows, seems to come alive after 5000 rpm but by god is it loud when you give it some, at least twice as loud as the 182 from in the car but thats to be expected - might not pass noise regs at trackdays but I'll sort that later if I need to. Braking felt fine until I slowed down from about 40 mph to pull up, suddenly the pedal just sunk.. After stopping there was fluid all over the the inside of the nearside wheel and on the floor, after a quick wheel off job I've popped a brake flexi line as it would seem it was damaged from the jump:
Waiting for new ones to turn up, all the local motorfactors have no stock in. While there I've put a new brake line in to that wheel too as there was no way the metal line would separate from the flexi.
