Cheers fella, I bought the bonnet as it is for track use, but I've left it on as it looks purposeful!

Err, so it's been a while since I updated this.
We were up at Knockhill on Sunday October the 13th for another sessions based hot hatch day, I went up alone and D4MJT arrived later on in the day.
To start, after the briefing I had to pick which group to go in, I chose "Sub 180bhp Track Cars" so imagine my shock at the imprezas and evos in my group?!?!?! next time I may just got sub 180bhp road cars!
So time to go on track, I'd just fitten my newly refurbed Gaz adjustables, driven to the track on the softest setting, so lashed under the car, clicked them to 5 and went out on track.
1 Sighting lap to warm the tyres up and we were off, gunning down the home straight, firts corner, no rear grip at all and around she went! that was the first and last one of the day, but the scottish climate was just sucking the heat out of the rear tyres, so I proceeded with a bit of caution and let a few psi out of the rears after that session.
The rest of the day was good, it spat on to rain a bit, briefly rained, and pretty much every session someone was getting recovered, the banter was first class as ever, and as ever I made some "friends" on track which made the sessions a bit more fun.
We're up again on November 10th, I'll lash some videos of October up once I'm not trapped behind Renaults firewall!

So, on track again on Sunday, Knockhill again, I now regret taking the dash and heater matrix out!
brrr
Putting the 888s on for track, yes, that's frost!
Having said that as soon as the sun came out the heating didn't matter!
Me and D4MJT drove the car up again on steels, then swapped the wheels over at the track, it was wet to begin with and the back end was all over the place but as ever it was easily controllable.
This time we went in the road cars group, the group was huge but there were a pair of 3.0 V6 Lagunas in it, they are crazy machines, they seemed to corner on a single wheel!
The usual fun was had chasing people down, the car performed really really well.
Early afternoon they were doing free corner scales for those interested in SLS (Super Lap Scotland) which is a sort of power to weight class based 4 race series next year.
Mine came in at this:
Now that was with some tools in it, a BMW mobility kit, 3/4 of a tank of fuel and the washer bottle full.
So I was rather happy, to compete I think my cage has to go in, so that's the weight up, but I have a fiberglass hatch and rear polycarb to go in, along with binning the sunroof and a few other bits and bobs, hopefully I can be running the car around this weight if I compete.

Shame you didn't drag the tools etc. out and get a definite reading of just the car but you always forget stuff like that till after you have done it don't you!?
Looks pretty good though at the back although the front could do with some shifting about to balance it up. I don't know what you could do but that's where the ingenuity and imagination start to come in to play doesn't it?
No videos from the day this time?

The issue is Alan that the engine is on that side, and the driver, I could maybe go LHD but I'm not Senna.
It's actually not that unbalanced if you whap the figures into a calculator.
I'm going to weigh all the tools an stuff as they come out, but a 106 dash is going in, my cage, a nissens rad, but a fibreglass hatch, and losing the sunroof etc to offset it

After seeing the picture on Instagram, i totally agree mate. It will be good to see the final weight as well knowing what you have done to it... I think my supposed 750Kg on Oulton Parks scales was a bit off though lol.
Keep up the good work buddy.

We only got about 1 session of videos at Knockhill before my poverty screen mount imploded, here's a lap, you can see what looks like frost, but it was fertilizer they put down to clear the frost.
Still a bit slippy on 888s!
*edit, youtube seems to be doing something random to the vid, I'll sort it

Right, well January is upon us, and the first track day at Knockhill is too!
It's my youngest ones birthday that day so that buys me another month
I've achieved very little over the Christmas holidays:
I took my sunroof out
Glass 4.5kg
Rails, winder & cable 3kg
Metal bit that holds the winder 0.4kg
Now I'll need to weigh the black plastic surround, but my plan is to bolt that back in, and bond & bolt some polycarb into it!
so......
I got some polycarb cut to size, it would have been a 2 month wait to have the corners done, paf, I can do it with a hacksaw and a file!
Well, I did discover that the glass wasn't exactly rectangular so it JUST fits, it's a bit of a bodge, but once it's held in place I'm going to wrap the whole thing, including the black outer bit, I think, maybe.....
I got a 1.52*2m roll of wrap and some bond from santa to do my boot hatch, I need to bond my rear polycarb in, whap some nuts and bolts into it and hopefully not balls that up!
Wish me luck!

Oh, I also sort of put this in:
I may have done this as I did it :
That was annoying, and I had to pay £23 for a new one from Citroen
