Hey all just fit some brighter halos to my MK2 Angel eyes.. thought id do a guide on how to do it if anyone else wants to have a go.
I can't be held responsible if you mess your angels up and damage them. so do this at your OWN RISK.
The sizes of the halos in mk2 angels are 95mm for dipped beam and 100mm for the high beam
These are the ones I got..
95mm

100mm

The brightness of these is f'in crazy .. you cant even tell a difference between them during day and night, id reccommend these to anyone who wants to do this..
Things you need to do this:
MK2 Angel Eyes
New Halo rings
An Oven or Hair Dryer
Philips screw driver
Something to pry the cover off, like a blunt knife or flathead
Glue/anything you want to use to stick the new halos on
First thing to do is pop one of the lights in the oven at 100 degrees for 5minutes.. dont put the tempature up any higher or it will make marks in your angels plastic cover..
My lense cover has already been removed btw..
After the times up take the light out the oven, and find the 4 metal clips on the light that holds the plastic cover to the light itsself. once youve removed these its time to tackle the glue. What i did is get a blunt knife and pryed the cover from the light.. its fairly easy to do tbh the glue just comes right off due to it been heated up.
Once youve got them apart you should end up having these 3 parts:
in order to get the insert off you need to cut the old halo wires off.. which is fine seen as the point of doing this is to change them..
once youve got the insert out, turn it over and you should see the screws that hold the old halos in... so take a philips screwdriver and unscrew them, they should fall right out..
Now take your brand new halos and tread the wire through where the old halos wiring went...
To bond them in place you can heat a bit of the glue that holds the plastic cover on with a hair dryer, you can use this to stick the new halos in place
they should end up looking like this..
REMEMBER TO TEST THEM BEFORE YOU GLUE THEM ON
After theyve bonded on.. the next thing to do is thread the wires through the old exit holes the old halo wires went through... as below
Then after that the insert sort of has 3 clips to clip in.. but the rest is held on by the glue.. so pop the light in the oven again.. without the lense cover this time...
Give them a quick test before you seal them up
wait about 5 minutes again at 100 degrees, then take the light out the oven.. This will heat up the glue again so it will let your lense cover stick on...
Have your metal clips ready because once you put the plastic cover on the clips hold it in place before the glue sets and dries..
should take like 5-10 mins to cool down...
Give them a quick clean to get all your finger prints off....
then you should have something like this...
Then refit your angel eyes to your car and enjoy your day time halos and turning heads
If you did everything right they should look like this
At night
