I like the sound of tb's tbh and from what I've read the torque power band is a lot stronger with them rather than the single body.

Not really that bothered about peak power, what I want is something that will kick me in the back all the way to 9.5k rpm!

They were taken fresh out of the bodyshop and I'd just not got round to/decided whether to put orange chevs back in or do them black

Sorry for all the questions lol!
I'm taking the sellers word for it but it is meant to be absolutely flawless!

Want to leave the Spax suspension on for the time being but may invest in some solid rear struts for drag days, failing that then prob the same set up as my old one - Billie B8/GMC combination.

No mate, can't find a decent one for my budget so we're going to replace the missus' car instead and I'll keep my 2 saxos

For the engine, would it not be possible to make a cradle/semi space frame to the engine to sit on, which would then be attched to the front bulkhead/chassis legs.
It looks as though a semi space frame would be used but welded straight to the bulkhead/chassis. It'll all be a bit "trial and error" to fit it but I'll do whatever isn't going to upset the balance too much

It is mate. He's made it look simple so I'll be sure to speak to him a fair bit over the course of the next year or so!

Paint is extra weight. A bodyshop will use a good few liters of it (inc. primer and clear coat) so if you're aiming for super light weight then leave the CF exposed.

why worry about a spaceframe on the front. My custom engine mounts were simply welded on to the right points on the chassis. I had four made for my engine and gearbox and they were pretty straightforward. Then all you really need are custom drivehafts. It would be a lot cheaper and would not add extra weight or anything.
Its not totally easy to see but theres my top engine mount...

I spent £4k ish on getting a group A cage fitted, extra chassis welding, lightening, custom strengthening, engine mounts, custom front suspension plus custom rear turrets. You dont have to pay stupid money for custom work. My car had about 70 man hours spent on it.

well if the chassis is left rather basic to start then I'd say £9k min with the throttlebodied engine and all the carbon panels + painting unless you can pull in favours..good luck though! Watch out for rolling costs if that is important.
Remember you probably want something like a plate diff as well to get the traction down, sticky tyres etc to get the traction.

Would it not be cheaper to build something like a Supercharged Gti-6 or something along those lines? Would look way mote stealthy and be a darn sight quicker... potentially cheaper too.

Fairplay for sticking with what you love i guess.

Then it would be 2000cc and boosted. And even then still cost 7-8k for high boost. But 450 ponies would be fun.

Why not look for steel wheels instead? Much lighter than VTRs, unsprung weight = bad weight.

Because he wants to be in the A catagory on the strip, and you cant have anything over a 1600cc engine.

And most people would choose one of the b16 varients (in this case b16b) over the majority of the 1600cc engines around, simply because of their reliability and their performance (Vtec y0).

I don't know much about the engine codes from ricer wagons, my friend is currently rebuilding his DC2 engine, UK spec, and that currently makes 198bhp on the dyno, hoping for around 210-220 in the new year with the cams.

Are they 1800 or 1600s?
