Default Shoulder issues / worth seeing Doctor ?

When I was about 16 or 17, I remember lifting some weights into the Dumbell-fly position that were too heavy and injured my shoulder as the weight took my arm down / backwards.
I heard a distinct click / crack of the shoulder, but felt no pain.

I have hypermobility in my joints and have always been able to move more than most, so when this happened, i felt no pain and thought " lucky me,maybe I've got away with it ".

Now more or less 10 years on, I've been training solid for over a year, but noticing when I stretch that the shoulder in question is painful past certain points and grinds when I do this type of stretch

You rekon I've done some serious damage and would a Doctor help me in this scenario or just send me to a physio ?

If it's only when you move certain ways, that would suggest ligament damage. But then I'm no doctor. Go see the doctor.

sad fact of getting older really, i notice loads of damage allover these days ive done years back.. think youve got away with it but it always comes back

go see your quack..if they dont give you any info you feel is right, ask to be referred to a specialist. if they say they cant...seek the manager out and mention your solicitor

Ok so I think found a solution. Aside from the usual warm up, what i do now is start my exercises very light, but begin with shoulders first. My mates a physio and gave me some correctional exercises to try. I do those first, then carry on my warm up until i'm ready to go all out. Seems to do the trick so ill go with that for a bit.
