The high rise (third) brake light has to work to pass, all brake lights fitted have to work.

The ABS light must come on with the ignition switched on, then go out within a reasonable time with the engine running. So taking the bulb out won't work lol
for the third brake light, it only fails if the tester can prooved that its wired up and is ment to work

if you have unpluged the light they will more than likely think it doesnt have abs but on the off chace they see a sensor im not sure how they would go about it. its abit risky :/

for the condition of lights, if the rear light has a slight but not noticeable crack which doesnt affect light operation, will it fail?

just a querie on this. where it says the mot test checks function for A.B.S do u mean that the warning light is functioning or the actual A.B.S system?
jus wanted to check as i had my vtr M.O.T'd on the 01/09/07 and on the 09/09/07 there was an accident in front of me on the motorway. which i would've been able to stop 4, had the wheels not locked up.
