Can’t you argue that? Especially if you have it for a week. I had a warranty issue on my 335d once and they gave me an X1, I told them it wouldn’t be suitable for my family, so they offered me a 3 Series GT instead.
On the up side, you have a new car to review. Do a “5 THINGS I LOVE/HATE ABOUT THE NEW 1.0 POLO” video.

Are you saying that the loaned Polo had rubbish tyres and brakes? In which case, why are you bothered about upgrading your own if you’ll never use it on a track? Surely the standard brakes (assuming they’re 4-pots, I’ve not actually checked but my Cupra had 4-pots as standard so I imagine a 2016 Polo will too) and a set of decent tyres, like the ones you already have on, are good enough for the road? Or are you planning on purchasing these upgrades for the loaned Polo?

Are you being deliberately dumb, or can you not read between the lines?

To be fair I'm hardly going to be using it and it's not going to use much fuel (I hope) so i'll just keep it for now. Definately. I now have a reason to make another video so it's done me a favour in a way.

But is it any less terrible?
I was sat in 33k of Golf GTi this week in the showroom, it was like being in my touran but with a leather steering wheel.
I quite liked the fact that it had the same manual seat adjustment and lumbar support.

It's an overpriced badge, basically.
I'm impressed they shoehorned him in it, car salesmen aren't renowned for their muscle

I would be inclined to disagree with that one. It's far more upmarket inside compared to any of its cars in its class apart from maybe the Peugeot 208 GTI...

My 2007 Touran must be some sort of super lux spec then!
It isn't though.
Sitting in the GTI was a lot like being in the Touran, which I found rather amusing. A lot of the stuff was the same, and jesus man the doorcard plastics! they're like the side skirts from a Ford Mustang.
I know you have some sort of VW boner, and I'm a fan of them too having bought my mum a Mii, and the Mrs a second hand Touran, but a windy knob for lumbar on a 33k car? please

Pretty much only the R line / GTI get full electronics on everything. My wife's Tiguan which cost 28k has manual seats like you say, only the R line got full electrics.
I like VW, they're safe, bland and dont lose 50% of their value in a year of ownership

I agree on the safe choice. The fun side of me would probably have been better off with a Peugeot Sport 208 Gti but the older more sensible side decided to try a VW and it's perfect for me.

I had a 108 as a courtesy car the other day (cheers Land rover), it was decent enough but I couldnt get over what would happen to anyone in the car if you someone rear ended you at any great speed. The car would crumple and people would surely die

I would be pretty pissed if I had a land rover and got given a 108! It's not like they are even remotely the same size (they should always try to find you a car the same size, it doesn't usually go on engine sadly)

The warranty had just run out so I had to foot the bill of 2400 to replace the roll bar and pipes. Had it been under warranty I guess I would have been given something LR related. The Service bloke walked me past a row of new shape LR's so I was thinking I was getting one of them then we got to a purple 108, he could see the genuine disappointment on my face

Got another evening session at Snetterton on the 11th. Will be in a standard car again so will learn from last time and let the tyre pressures down a bit and only go out for three laps max, may even ditch the rear seats to try and aid the brakes and tyres as much as I can although at 1272kg the car is pretty frwaking heavy for a small hot hatch!
