bought a BE during the week.
Picasso 5speed 1.6 tu
removed diff
now I am undecided if I fit quaife £560 or a plated diff £tbc...
I am also told 205 gti 1.6 gearbox is required to use the gears from as they are much shorter than this Picasso.... I am wanting 125-130mph top speed in 5th with the remaining gears all shorter than standard.

yes it will be more prone to wheelspin with a shorter FD.

Thank you martin. Do you cut the front hydro part off the box too i see atspeed have but that to clear turbo intake?

I did but thats cos my inlet snail sits where they were as its a big turbo
Josh i cant see why you cant, i havent tried to yet. Then again alot of people said you cant 6 speed the be4
I cant find the exact geara ratios on servicebox but your gearbox has a FD of4.26
Going by the gears i have ( mine was a picasso box so i know i have the same ones in the pile) it should be
1st = 34 mph
2 =63
3=96
4=132
5=160
Thats with a 7500 rpm limit
Ill dig out the 205 ratios tomorrow to compare
Or if anyone has the exact gears from the picasso box (or if you want to drop the case off and count the teeth on the gears)

Ill rev to 7200 but usually rev to 7 before change.

Collected a be3 205 gti 1.6 gearbox saturday... fitting the gears and fd from that into the be4 today.
