For fuck's sake, I've just wasted the best part of an hour reading this thread!

I think its good that its gone. I did have quite a lot of good rep, but I also had a few red blobs, mainly abusing me....fucking whats the point in it?

I'd say just leave it as it is now, may even help to make Sax-p a better place, more banter just for the sake of it, and if anyone can help another member, they'll do so just for the sake of helping, rather than doing it to get an e-extension to their e-penis.

The sole intention of this thread was to announce and then discuss the changes to the reputation system. I think discussing this in a serious manner is more beneficial to the forum than not dont you ? Your really getting your point across by being a tit about it aren't you ?

honest to god Simo has a point there! if you read the comment I put earlier in this thread you will maybe get an understanding and realise this is the internet.

a rep system on ANY site means Sweet FA, honestly it means nothing! its numbers and colours... thats it period. why have a rep system when in fact only you who retrive the rep can see who repped you and what comments where made/left!

I.e I rep simo for been helpful he then clicks on his User CP to see what I put. only he can see the comment! if anything it should be opend so anyone can see the comments made towards others via the rep..at least that way the cocks who do abuse the system will obviously be found out (by everyone) as anyone would be able to see the comments they are leaving for other members in there ''rep sheet''! its a pointless functon, if anything it slows the site down due to more and more data been created! via people repping!

simo has to create the hyperlinks,pages,codes,images,flashmedia (if need be) for the rep system to work and to be put in place which thus takes up server space and in return over all will slow the site down!

why do you think avater pics are small, why do you think you are only allowed to have a certain sized signature??????

1. to stop filling up your monitor screens
2. to save space on the server for useful things!

due to the removal of a VERY small feature to this site (named the reputation system) its like loads of people have turned into children all a sudden and have spat there dummies out!

grow up and get over it! and as simo has stated the people to blame are the people who have abused the system. simo nore any other admin/mod are to blame!

It's nothing, isn't like you get extra money in your bank account or that. I'm not been funny, but as stated above it's just same coloured bars next to your name which IMO is nothing important - I suppose it's same with the vBExperience, I don't mind it but again it doesn't really serve a purpose as such. I'm one for the old skool style forums, simple but effective but thats the way I am.

The only thing I'll miss about the rep system is when I post something which I know will get comments - and then wait to see the red and/or green blobs appear.

Quite often, one witty / sarcastic comment would get a mixture of red and green....? wtf?!

exactly. totally agree. neg repping for opinions is just stupid. if i had even an argument on here with someone which was rare, id still not neg rep them, but if someone was being an idiot to other members etc i would, which was very rare. i think i negged less than a handfull of times the whole time.

anyway with pauls idea, sounds spot on. those bars hes said and maybe just stopping the neg rep

i liked the rep idea, i mean it was only a bit of fun but i think it added something to saxp. oh well was obv going to happen anyway.

Altho i do think it will lead to people performing more extreme actions.
