Content Contributors?
Whilst asking people how we can improve Saxperience further, a topic that keeps cropping up is having more 'official' How-To guides... but I'd like to extend this to more 'content' in general, but maybe concentrating on How-To guides initially.

Then, we should have a separate area for 'verified' article content. This area could be another forum where threads/articles are moved to once they have been verified by someone with a technical mind. Hopefully this way, a group of people can contribute to and edit guides, so that the finished article is as detailed/useful as possible and not just one persons point of view. Once verified and approved, the articles would be transferred to the main site.
These people willing to help out could be given an elevated status, as content contributor or content author, etc, etc.
Obviously I only wish to have accurate, detailed info published on the main site regarding how-to guides, so that it is useful for everyone.
Thoughts???

I kicked around the idea of having a group of people (content contributors, or some other term) to contribute content, then have the same select group of people edit, ammend and verify/validate the content, before it gets published formally.
This gives people the opportunity to get more involved within the workings of Saxperience, without getting too involved if you get me
I have quite a few ideas of how this might work, but it will only work if you peeps are willing to support this and get involved?
Please let me have youre feedback. More details to be shared as this thread develops... and lets include your ideas too!

Sounds good to me, as some people who have good knowlege have time to be involved with decent content and but not the modding stuff, or just dont want to be a mod and are very helpful on the forum in general

sounds good to me, this is how PGAC ran it to a degree, with 4 or 5 'web team' looking after it. Also doing pages about peoples cars (like feature cars).
there was also the 'web admin' for the web designers.
this was all done on HTML, but i cannot see a reason why it wont work on the forum database.
I am happy to have a go.

Yeah sounds like a decent plan. I only scan read it. But would it involve taking peoples guides just stuck around on the forum, tidying them up with some better quality pictures or the like and uploading them to the Modifications section?
One thing I was a bit confused about, was a premium guide was 'how to change the headunit' while a free guide was 'fitting uprated cams'
Bit backwards?

Sounds tip top. I've laid down the foundations for the tyre guide... but yet to get anywhere near finishing it (it's lurking on the forum somewhere), my mpg guide needs a masssssive overhaul (can maybe sort it tonight, but I've only just got back to G'town and 6 hours driving has killed my weary body and mind), and there is some other thing I was meant to put you but I've and a mental spaz block and can't remember It's just finding time at the moment. but ta for the reminder.

as discussed in the premium chat section..
good idea, it will make guides more accessible for newer members and help those who can't find what they require

sounds good imo
like said, if you just get the best detailed guides out there it'd be very good and useful. but then again, only if people can find it. as the reason all the guides are needed in one section is because people fail to look in the right sections
id be happy to help write up a few ICE guides

It's nice to see a bit of feedback on this old thread
If people are serious about wanting to help out, then lets make this happen.
Ground rules... The how-to guides will be used to enrich the Premium member guide section / article area, so the people taking part in the content contributor role need access to the premium member forums.
If people want to nominate themselves (or nominate someone else who is interested) then lets get this started. I will set up a working forum for content contributors to post their guides - the whole team can then work on adding to them.
When they are "ready", the finished guide will be published in a premium member section.
Sound workable??

I was going to write a 'How To Change The Standard Saxo Horn' in the summer when Ive finished Uni for the year as I still need to find something that sounds better.
Do you want just major things or 'daft' things like I was going to write? Would all be benefical IMO. Also possibly a quick A-Z of the technical terms for the n00bs (myself included) that we can all edit (possibly a Wiki style)?

i.e your removing mine/others guides from normal sections and sticking them in the premium sections?
