Another update. I've done the small touch ups of the missing bits of paint, and also have painted all the panels now.

Just needs a final coat now to give it a good finish and its done!

Also did a few little things like wire in the neon's into the boot and stuff, I know its chavy but I quite like my boot!

The boot is lit up blue by two cathode tubes which looks nice, but also the car glows out from underneath in the same blue when you open the boot up. Pointless I know, but I liked the idea of it - and haven't seen it done yet!

They aren't on the whole time, and then only activate when the boot is undone

Also painted the underneath of the bonnet and the slam panel, as they were both blue from buying new parts..

Also de-wipered to go with the clean look on the back.

From this:

To This!

But overall, I'm quite happy with the look now. The paint you can see on the bonnet is the bits where I have touched up, so after the final coat it will all be nicely nicely done

Thoughts?

Sounds good mate. Looking forward to getting some dials back in my car! Your purple ones are sitting half in my dash currently!

I never thought about it that way! They should be paying me for driving my car like this!

I might ring them up and ask!

Im actually quite proud of it. Bear in mind it was a wreck at the end of june and undriveable...

I think its sad that I have to put a numberplate back on the rear of the car though. It hasn't had one on in ages being sat on my drive, and I love how it looks without! its so clean!

Rollered on mate.

Just used a nice foam roller and then actually painted the smaller sections in with a paintbrush!

looks good, impressed with the outcome after the crash, but i dont see why youve put an offset square plate on it? becasue youve still got the standard plate recess, if it was smoothed out i can see a point but just looks a little strange please put a normal plate back on it then would look awesome, loving the orange

I quite like the offset.

I know I have the standard recess, but I had the standard plate on it, and didn't really like it.

I might try it again now its all painted - but im quite fond of the offset plate!

Id never painted a car either! It wasn't too bad. I've done a few more since, and you do get better with time.

Id practice with a few spare body panels if you have some first to get the idea.

Satin is really easy to get a good finish on, my friend's mini is painted in satin and looks awesome.

It wasn't easy easy, but I wouldn't say it was too hard.

Just a case of lining up, I cheated a little on the front arches and fitted the VT arches with the holes already cut

and ty for the above comment. Looks cool now - Getting some amazing looks when I drove along the A12 today! I'll take some more pictures soon. He needs a wash and another lick of paint!

Being lowered thursday eve hopefully, so will look lovely
