Eds Moonstone GTI, now with added Bmw and Jap
Safe.
This was an unexpected purchase/swap. As I've been looking for an ideal VTR to replace one I bought to reshell.
In addition, I also had a 106 1.1 I used while I was at home as a cheap runabout/van.
Then up came a swap with Sophia_Bush (gav) I couldn't resist.. My 1.1 to swap with a Moonstone GTI and cash his way.
Excuse the pictures, I'm still yet to clean it. And get under it.
2000 Reg
Moonstone blue
266mm front brakes on DS3000 pads. (Hell of a difference compared to the 1.1s solid discs)
Kam racing linkages
and some other little bits.
-It needs some bits doing, mainly rear beam and the windscreen needs replacing at some point.
Along with a little bit of welding.
Plans i'm undecided on really, I was all up for making a sole purpose track car to replace my Mx5. But this is actually quite tidy under the dirt. So I may just tidy it up abit and replace a few things.
C&C welcome.

You suit the Mx5, so I would use this as a trackcar and the Mx5 as your to and from the salon car

I'd loose the black wheels and get the original silver raptors on this. Looks nice though

Haha, you're not the first to say that tbh. I think you're right though, its the cheapness of parts compared to mx5s I think that draws me back to Saxo/106.
£1000 will get me a cage, cams and some wheels. Which is ideally what I want. Dread to think what the Mx5 would cost, aswell as not being much choice for Cams and cages.

Iye, the VTR wheels are temporary as the ones on it were kept by the previous owner. I'd like some 15" Chrono's for it. As the tyre choices and prices are much better.

Eds Moonstone 106 GTI.
205 speedlines or vts wheels for looks but that's my personal view. That is unless you can get something like 2118s they'd look great on this colour

I've looked at 2118s, aswell as superlegera/ultra.
If I can find some i'll probably have them.
Trying to avoid, S wheels/Raptors as such due to them having solid centres.

I'd like to get the exhaust swapped over for a Pugsport or OMP if I can find one, and go back to see the difference if any.
Along with a different filter set up.
All in all, I'm pretty chuffed with that. Enjoyed today a lot, Back to the real world tomorrow though

Knew I missed something.
Magnex exhaust, Pipercross filter/induction, Not a great deal tbh.
Had a set of Injectors i'd had ultrasonically cleaned so put them in the other day. Pretty much it as far as I know.

I only ended up cleaning it yesterday, in the hailstone and rain.
Iye, I was pretty surprised! Better breathing mods next, then i'll get set too on pulling my jp4 lump apart and get the head done and swapped over.
Want to go back in the summer when I'm back home and see what difference its all made!
I liked the cage in yours though, something I wanna look into eventually. In a saxo, if not in this.

Right, this isn't 106 related but rather than make a new thread. I'll add everything in here.
Up until January I was using my Discovery 3 for commuting to work and back in, and as a daily. Having the Mx5 and now 106 as a couple of toys to keep me busy.
But it was a bit much as I don't tow bikes about anymore, so it was a bit of a waste, along with a drain on fuel.
I was looking at allsorts of replacements, Big saloons for some reason. Think for the gangster look.. 7 series, A8s etc. Found a perfect 728i but didn't fancy travelling to Ireland for it.
A family member popped up not long back and offered me an E46, not really what I was after but its clean and been in the family from new. (Was my mums in 2000-2004) Then given to my uncle, then I acquired it.
It'll do me for a year or so while I sort a house, and garage unit out. Then I'll try and upgrade.
Enter the E46 (4cylinder) Urgh.
130k miles
Full BMW service history, same dealer from new.
I've done the headgasket, so theres one less thing to go wrong.
CD changer, in car phone (Bit useless really)
Only thing its really lacking is leather, which i'm trying to source atm.
With the change from selling the Discovery, I bought a new Mx5 too.
Bit of an impulse buy, I just plan to sell it on really as I got it for a steal.
2007 Mazda Mx5 NC. 1.8. Basically a duratec ford engine. Bit shit.
This had ran over something, like a post or massive kerb, as it was a CAT-D. Cracked the oil sump, and ran the engine dry of oil. Along with damaging the bumper, and pulling a side skirt off. Both of which have been repaired and repainted.
Damage to the engine so far, is worn shells and scored camshafts. I'm yet to check the chain tensioners, but I'll replace the lot anyway.
Only done 4000miles too, with the digital service history that mazda use, I checked if it had been done. It was serviced at 1500miles in 2009.
So this is my current project.
